Specific Sustainability Issues

"Sustainability" can be thought of more
specifically through the following issues:

• Energy
  Energy efficiency, conservation, and renewable, distributed, & other alternative energy sources
  
  
• Transportation
  Especially more efficient transportation (e.g. mass transit, alternatives to single-passenger vehicles, etc.);
  
  
• Land Use
  Especially the management of urban sprawl, New Urbanism, and keeping wilderness areas wild;
  
  
• Waste Management
  Especially promoting the idea of "Reduce, Re-use, and Recycle"
  
  
• Water Issues
  It's no coincidence that this site is being launched from Colorado in July 2002, during one of the state's worst droughts and forest-fire seasons. Water has always been the ultimate Sustainability issue in the American West, and continued development in this arid climate will only make this problem more significant in the future.
  
  
• Other Sustainability Issues
  Admittedly, there are a number of other Sustainability issues out there, but PvH Communications has decided not to focus on these issues for now.
