a Sample of PvH's Work on the MSIS User Manual ...
The Mine
Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is part of the U.S. Department
of Labor, and administers the provisions of the Federal Mine Safety
and Health Act of 1977.
MSHA has undergone
a several-year program to update and coordinate all of its computer
systems and databases regarding legal identification, penalty assessment,
qualification & certification, and enforcement information. This
combined effort is know as the "MSHA Standard Information System
(MSIS)."
MSHA asked PvH
Communications to design, create, and maintain the user documentation
for the entire MSIS system. In less than a year, PvH Communications
worked with users, subject matter experts, trainers, developers, and
testers to produce this documentation. Documentation for no less
than four iterations of this software were released
during the 2003 fiscal year alone, something not seen in most federal-government
projects!
"Phil
has created lucid and attractive user manuals for training agency
staff on the new MSIS systems. His optimistic can-do attitude, his
ability to mesh the needs of various people, and his strong technical
skills make him a valuable member of our team.
Thanks for all your help, Phil!"
