After
several unsuccessful attempts in the State Legislature, a committed
group of energy advocates thought the voters of Colorado should decide
whether or not the state's largest utilities should produce more of
their electricity from renewable energy sources.
 |
Starting
with a massive petition drive in August 2004, PvH Communications
helped spread the word about why Amendment
37 was good for the state's environment and electricity bills.
Once
this question made it onto the statewide ballot, PvH Communications
continued helping with everything from working the phone banks
to creating an Internet
T-Shirt Shop as a fund-raiser for the Yes on 37 Campaign. |
The
t-shirt shop raised much-needed funds for the campaign (especially considering
how the opposition was made up of most of the state's largest utilities),
and Amendment
37 passed by a 53%-to-47% margin. This historic campaign made Colorado
the first state in the Union to have its voters approve a Renewable
Electricity Standard!
